Cambodia Exports First Batch of Durians to China

Cambodia exported its first 17-tonne batch of freshly packed durians directly to China via Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, with the shipment reaching Shenzhen within nine days. Durian becomes the fifth Cambodian fruit to gain direct access to the Chinese market, following bananas, mangoes, longans, and coconuts. The export was organized by HF FRUIT LTD in collaboration with a Chinese partner, after opening its packing facility on 1 May in Tbong Khmum province.

Cambodia currently has about 5,000 hectares of durian cultivation, with 3,000 hectares harvested annually, producing approximately 37,000 tonnes each year. The new export pathway represents an expansion of market access for Cambodian durians.
